Khmer Cooking Class & Teaching English Experience at Aspire School

Spend a meaningful day experiencing Cambodian culture while supporting local children through teaching English.

With Aspire Cooking Class, we will ask a volunteers contribute $25 per meal to participate in cooking classes where they learn the art of traditional Cambodian cuisine. Participants are taught how to prepare popular dishes such as Amok fish or chicken, curry soup and beef lok lak. Most classes include visits to lively local markets, hands-on instruction from experienced chefs, and tasting sessions where participants can enjoy the dishes they have prepared themselves.

After the market visit, you will travel to Aspire School, located approximately 20 minutes from Siem Reap. There, you will take part in a hands-on Khmer cooking class led by local staff. Learn how to prepare traditional Cambodian dishes using fresh ingredients before enjoying the meal you have helped create.

Following lunch, you will have the opportunity to spend time with the children through games and activities before afternoon English classes begin. The school staff will provide guidance and materials.
